Azee is a medication derived from Erythromycin, with Azithromycin as its active ingredient. It is prescribed for the treatment of individuals with acute bacterial sinusitis, community-acquired pneumonia, pharyngitis/tonsillitis, acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, uncomplicated skin infections, cervicitis, urethritis, and genital ulcer diseases.
Azee is effective against various types of bacterial infections including those of the ears, skin, respiratory system, and sexually transmitted infections. Azithromycin combats bacterial infections within the human body. It can also be used in children for conditions such as tonsillitis, strep throat, pneumonia, and ear infections. However, it is not effective against viral infections like the common cold or flu.
The most frequently experienced side effects among adult patients taking Azee are related to the gastrointestinal tract, with diarrhea or loose stools, nausea, and abdominal pain being the most commonly reported issues.
Seek immediate medical attention if you notice any signs of allergic reactions such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling of the face, tongue, lips, or throat. Discontinue the use of Azee and contact your healthcare professional right away if you experience severe side effects such as watery or bloody diarrhea, irregular heartbeats, chest pain, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), nausea, abdominal pain, low-grade fever, high fever, severe skin reactions, sore throat, skin pain, or a spreading red or purple rash, particularly on the face or upper body, accompanied by blistering and peeling.
Store Azee at room temperature, away from children and pets, and protect it from sunlight.
